This volumes consists of essays containing commentary on the entire text of Kant’s text «On the Common Saying: ‘That May Be True in Theory, but It Does Not Hold in Practice’» (1793) as well as its reception. It closes a gap in Kant’s interpretation, bringing a Kantian text into focus that provides unique, essential insights for the appropriate assessment of his philosophies of morality, law, and history.
